Melbourne Botanic Gardens – Feature Wedding
Melbourne Botanic Gardens Feature Wedding
Their story: These two met through a friend working at AMEX, and have a very interesting life including lots of traveling for Avan’s job as an engineer for Ericson. Jodie is doing her Master’s online whilst tracing the world with Avan for his job – If that’s not love what is? Jodie loved how straight up Avan was right from the begining of their relationship, it didn’t take long for these two to become inseparable and this wedding was a true example of this private couple’s relationship.
On the day: This was the smallest and most intimate ceremony, I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Jodie & Avan choose to have no wedding party and the only guests that attended their ceremony were immediate family. The Rose Pavillion at the Royal Melbourne Botanic gardens was the perfect spot for their vows, as the space only allowed for an intimate crowd. This makes the photography even more important so that people who weren’t there to witness the marriage can look at the pictures and see the real emotion on love.
With no bridal party it made it possible to have time for heaps of photo locations including a punting adventure at the gardens, flinders’s street station (Where they shared their first kiss) and federation square.
We also made sure to get photo’s with the elephant and zebra graffiti up the road from the Town Hall as Jodi’s is originally from Kenya and the safari animals remind her of her home country. The couple also included animal statues from Kenya as their wedding favours and a animal themed cake and cupcakes made by Jodie’s mum.
The words used by the couple to describe the photography they wanted for their day were ” candid, unstated, relaxed and not too posed” Which I think you can see we achieved.
